I took an extra day off for Memorial Weekend and realize 3 full days in Toronto made a significant difference. Splurged on 2 cupcakes from Dufflet(overrated!) and DLish (truly DLish!), followed by 1.5 dozen of oysters from Oyster Boy, my trip ended in the most indulgent way. To top that off, I passed my US Citizenship test on June 1st!
OMGs:
City Hall Wedding is a tough one because you don’t really want to go super formal with only a 30 minutes of ceremony. Your seating capacity is extremely small and just how “big” can you make it? This San Francisco bride added some flair with that asymmetrical black and white knee length dress. Yeah I need a short white dress for my City Hall Ceremony too. Must Dress Shop Now~
I was envisioning a fascinator in place of a veil but this DIY peacock hairpin looks perfect for the bridal party. Apparenly you only need a glue gun, some feathers and rhinestones.
A Weddingbee suggested FeatherStore.com for feather supplies. They sell peacock feathers by the 100s for about $20+. Good DEAL!
As I was contemplating photo booth options, which actually just a plain and pretty backdrop is required, I’m really crossing my finger that we can somehow customize the photo area, so that we’re not standing in front of a pink and white drape with our names in red sequins – common cliche of Chinese Banquet Halls. I found these little props to be very cute and handy. The Speech Bubble White Board can double as a photo guest book almost.

And then there is this DIY Cut Out Signs. Well the tutorial looks a bit complicated but worth trying. I’m already dreaming of making LOL captions for guest to make their own wedding meme. I CAN HAZ A HUBZ!
Useful Stuffs:
New Wedding Site Builder Found! Weddingjojo has some gorgeous and quirky designs for brides who are not into lace and damask. It’s comparable to the badass collection of OffBeatBride’s Wedding Websites but WeddingJoJo is for the whimsical and romantic! (well if you’re already on wordpress you can probably just make another blog and start building pages….but why not go the easy way? WeddingJoJo is free too!
WeddingBells talked about a dress rental service called Rent Frock Repeat. It allows you to rent a dress for 4-8 days. It could come in handy for bridemaids dresses if you are forcing all your bridemaids to wear hot pink for just 1 day. However, the price point aren’t too smart. With a $50 price tag at the minimum, you can own something truly gorgeous from J Crew, anthropologie, ASOS or ModCloth. (Click on those store links and don’t blame me if you accidentally splurged. )
WTFs:
Since everyone needs a benchmark, creditsesame showed us the True Cost of A Wedding Knot. Check up on how ridiculous your wedding spending is with the rest of the folks in the following infographic. Los Angeles’s average passed the $30K mark, WTF!!
